Stay crouched and approach the table next to his door. On the upper floor, Jaan Troutmann will be in the room ahead, but with the door shut. Grab one, then sneak up the staircase, staying out of sight of the guards outside. On the ground floor you can find bottles of poison to the right of the staircase or in the room to the west which requires you to push open the door.
Instead, sneak into the ground floor of the building. You can climb directly up the vines into Trautmann’s room and kill him, but don’t do this if you want to complete the Liberation Kill Challenge. They’ll inform you that he receives food deliveries outside his room, but won’t come out otherwise. Sneak to the wall at the edge of the compound and you’ll overhear two guards discussing Trautmann’s paranoia. To complete this Kill Challenge you’ll need to remain stealthy, as alerting Trautmann will stop you from taking him out. He’s found in a large building on the west side of the map, as shown above. The Sniper Elite 5 Mission 6 Liberation Kill Challenge will ask you to kill Jaan Trautman with poison.

Your Kill Challenge target is Jaan Trautmann, a paranoid Nazi officer who has holed himself up in a fancy building in France. The Mission 6: Liberation Kill Challenge in Sniper Elite 5 asks you to put the guns away for once and make use of deadly poison instead.
